CLOVERBUDS 🍀

Our Journey Begins!

Is your child ready to embark on an exciting journey into the world of horseback riding? Our Cloverbuds class is the perfect place for them to build confidence, make new friends, and develop essential riding skills in a supportive environment—all while having a blast! 🌈🐎✨

Classes are $60 per participant
Sessions are split into two parts for a well-rounded experience:

  • The first 45 minutes focus on riding under saddle,

  • The second 45 minutes switches over to fun activities. Parents are asked to put away their child's horse/pony and return if the instructor needs help with the activities.

FOR AGES 5-7 ONLY (as of January 1st, current year)

  • Riders aged 5 must always be on a leadline with an adult 18+ years old.

  • Riders aged 6 & 7 require a side walker who is at least 14 years old.

Leading a Horse/Pony:

  • 5-year-olds will learn to lead the horse with adult help, focusing on safety and proper handling.

Riding Posture:

  • Riders will learn how to sit correctly and comfortably on the horse.

Controlling the Horse/Pony:

  • Riders will practice steering and stopping the horse at a walk and learn to keep a safe distance from others.

Learning to Trot:

  • For 6-year-olds: Introduction to trotting (leadline assistance required).

Activities

  • Engaging games to make learning fun, like obstacle courses and relay races.

This class aims to instill a love for riding while ensuring safety and skill development among young participants.

Cloverbuds do not need an official evaluation but should demonstrate to their 4-H leader that their horse and rider pairing is safe prior to the clinic.
